GENERAL JOB SUMMARY :

Welcomes patrons, seats them at tables, and helps to ensure the quality of facilities and service. This position serves as a trainer.

Trainers are responsible for supervising the learning experiences of students in all areas of The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, The Kirkwood Center for Hospitality Arts and The Kirkwood Center for Continuing Education.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas providing them with menus / specials.

Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs.

Answer all incoming calls taking reservations, messages and In-Room dining orders and relaying information to appropriate staff.

Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly and customers' concerns are addressed.

Versed with all menus to be able to answer any questions guests may have.

Regular and consistent attendance at work.

Perform other related work duties as assigned.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS : Must have the ability to take directions and effectively perform the work.

Positive and customer service oriented attitude at all times.

Maintain proper grooming and dress code standards.

Ability to stand and / or walk for the duration of shift.

Position involves working in a business setting. Occasional (10-33%) sitting, viewing equipment and supplies and other types of close visual work.

Frequent (34-66%) reaching, pulling, grasping and pushing. Constant (67-100%) standing, walking, repetitive motion, talking and listening.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Must be 16 years old.

Must have excellent verbal communication skills and customer service skills.

Preference will be given to those candidates with a post high school degree.

Preference will be given to those candidates with a minimum of two years full-time, experience in a related hospitality setting or the equivalent education and related work experience.
