Resteel Ironworker installs reinforcing steel bars, cables, or wire in order to support concrete structures. May cut, bend, and/or weld steel construction materials. Being a Resteel Ironworker ensures proper placement and alignment according to blueprints and instructions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Resteel Ironworker may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Resteel Ironworker may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Turner Industries Group is looking for experienced Industrial Ironworkers for work in the Pass Christian, MS area. This position raises, places and unites girders, columns and other structural-steel members to form completed structures frameworks while working as a member of a crew.
Functional Requirements:
Off loads deliveries of structural material from hg the fabricator; sets up and breaks down hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural-steel members; fastens steel members to cable of hoist; signals worker operating hoisting equipment to lift and place steel member; guides member or rides on member in order to guide it into position; pulls or pries steel members into approximate position while member is supported by hoisting device; forces members into final position; aligns holes in member with corresponding holes in previously placed member; verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of members; bolts aligned members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted; cuts steel members to make alterations.
Tools/Equipment:
Employee may be required to provide the following: tool box, tool belt, crescent wrenches, tape, spud wrenches, hammer, ball pein hammer, tri square, striker, burning goggles, tip cleaners, work gloves, framing square, level, torpedo level, center punch, channel locks, combination wrenches, bull pin, pipe wrench, hacksaw, rain suit
Physical Involvement:
