Revenue Cycle Director directs and oversees the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of an organization's revenue cycle activities to achieve operational goals and cash flow targets. Reviews, designs, and implements processes to optimize the revenue cycle and ensure compliance. Being a Revenue Cycle Director tracks metrics and reports that identify trends and makes recommendations for areas of improvement. May assist in the development of goals and strategies for the department. Additionally, Revenue Cycle Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Revenue Cycle Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Revenue Cycle Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Job Summary: The Revenue Cycle Director plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the financial processes within Tanner Clinic. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the revenue cycle, including billing, coding, patient accounts, and insurance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare finance, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive revenue cycle efficiency and maximize financial performance.


    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Planning:  Develop and implement strategies to optimize the revenue cycle process, enhance revenue capture, and minimize revenue leakage.
    • Billing and Coding Management: Oversee the billing and coding operations to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims, adherence to regulatory  requirements, and optimization of revenue capture.
    • Patient Accounts Management: Manage patient accounts receivable processes, including billing inquiries, payment posting, collections, and reconciliation.
    • Insurance Management:  Ensure effective management of insurance claims processing, including claim submission, follow-up on unpaid claims, and resolution of claim denials.
    • Performance Monitoring:  Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor revenue cycle performance, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement.
    • Compliance: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and payer requirements to minimize compliance risks and penalties.
    • Staff Management: Lead and develop a high-performing revenue cycle team, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
    • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and clinical teams, to streamline processes, resolve issues, and optimize revenue cycle performance.
    • Provider Engagement: Connect with providers to provide transparent communication regarding billing, coding, and finances.
    • Technology Utilization:  Evaluate and implement revenue cycle technologies, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
    • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize revenue cycle processes, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance financial performance.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

      

    Education: 

    • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, business, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
    • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCR) certification beneficial.

    Experience:

    · Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in revenue cycle management, preferably in a healthcare setting.

    • Proficiency in revenue cycle management software and technology tools.
