Position Goal
This position is responsible for managing all aspects of billing, and assigned staff.
Position Responsibilities
- Manages clinic claims for electronic or hard copy mail and forwards to appropriate third party payors.
- Reviews claims to make sure that the payor specific billing requirements are met, follows up on billing, determines and applies appropriate adjustments, answers questions and updates accounts as necessary.
- Manages assigned Payor hold/Manager hold buckets. Communicates with appropriate staff members.
- Manages and educates team to ensure KPI performance is within or greater than expectations.
- Manages and approves payroll activities for assigned staff members.
- Assists patients with questions/payments on their accounts (escalated)
- Appropriately appeal insurance claims in a timely manner.
- Research and write up refunds.
- Establish/maintain relationships with Hughston Clinic Orthopaedic staff and physicians.
- Responsible for training new hires under the assigned umbrella
- Travel to assigned locations as needed to provide training to ensure accurate billing practices are followed.
- Responsible for direct communication to providers, executive leadership, management and staff members.
- Provide financial reporting to leadership and/or physicians
- Develop/Management of Budget as it relates to position.
- Direct backup to the CRCO for financial reporting
Experience: Experience: Minimum of three years medical collection experience preferred. Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 terminology required. C-PAR Required. CRCR preferred. Coding certification preferred. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of this particular field. Vast knowledge of Athena preferred. Vast understanding of State Law Medical Billing Requirements to include W/C.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Special Qualifications:
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
