Risk Management Director - Healthcare develops and administers risk management programs. Creates and modifies policies to comply with safety legislation, the Joint Commission, HIPAA, and industry practices. Being a Risk Management Director - Healthcare coordinates and develops hospital-wide programs for quality patient care and risk-free services. Acts as the liaison to attorneys, insurance companies, and individuals. Additionally, Risk Management Director - Healthcare investigates any incidences that may result in an asset loss. Oversees insurance designed to protect the health system from loss. Collects information related to the claims and lawsuits made against the health system. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Risk Management Director - Healthcare typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Risk Management Director - Healthcare typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. A renowned critical access hospital in Wyoming is seeking an enthusiastic and productive Emergency Medical Transportation Director to join their team.
The EMS Director position is a leadership position, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the EMS department when scheduled on shift. This leader will have authority to make decisions, schedule staffing for transfers, and give direction to other personnel On-Shift within the policies and procedures of the EMS department. This position reports directly to the EMS Supervisor, and will act as representative of the EMS Supervisor when the Supervisor is not present.
The ideal Emergency Medical Transportation Director candidate will be licensed as an Intermediate EMT (IEMT), and will have at least one year of supervisory or managerial experience.
Work responsibilities for the EMS Director will include:
1. Providing supervision and clinical direction to On-Shift EMS crew members.
2. Acting as primary point of communication and responsibility between on shift EMS crew members and the EMS Supervisor.
3. Directly assisting with patient access and patient care as a working member of the EMS team.
4. Making consistently sound decisions, effectively synthesizing logical reasoning based on objective data with emotional reasoning based upon subjective experiences of all parties involved.
5. Setting an example to other employees of skillful professional conduct. Utilizing effective interpersonal relations and communication skills while interacting with hospital personnel, patients, and families.
6. Working collaboratively with other Emergency Responder agencies for effective scene mitigation and management
7. Ensuring operational readiness which includes Vehicle maintenance, PAR level inventory, inventory outdates shifts checks are directed by the EMS Supervisor.
8. Other duties as assigned by the EMS Supervisor.
