Risk Manager manages and administers an organization's risk-management programs. Implements policies, procedures, and controls to monitor and minimize the risk exposure of assets. Being a Risk Manager researches internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks that may affect the organization. Routinely evaluates the effectiveness of procedures and collaborates with internal stakeholders to monitor changes in the business environment. Additionally, Risk Manager manages statistical analysis and designing of financial models to predict the risk exposure of an organization's assets. Reviews risk analysis reports to ensure risks are identified and managed effectively. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Risk Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Risk Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Role

    Fidelity Wealth is responsible for developing and delivering solutions for our individual clients seeking discretionary wealth and advisory services. Fidelity Wealth has a focused mandate to grow and scale, while finding new ways to benefit from partnerships with Workplace Investing and Fidelity Brokerage. As a member of the Fidelity Wealth Risk team, you are responsible for advising and collaborating with Fidelity Wealth leaders and associates to develop a risk-smart culture that promotes business initiatives while ensuring risks are proactively identified and mitigation strategies are implemented and monitored.

    The Expertise and Skills You Bring

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required
    • Three to five years of financial services experience
    • One to two years of process and controls knowledge
    • Broker-dealer and/or investment advisory product and operational knowledge preferred
    • Data analytics experience a plus
    • Self-starter, relationship builder, and strategic problem solver
    • Sophisticated ability to analyze financial, operational, regulatory, reputational, and strategic risks
    • Solid written and oral communication skills, with an ability to make complex topics understandable
    • Skilled at interactions with associates at all levels
    • Able to effectively collaborate and achieve objectives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
    • Ability to influence key decision makers through a combination of knowledge, reasoning, and relationships
    • Flexibility to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously

    The Team

    Fidelity Wealth Risk is a dedicated central function whose mission is to cultivate a culture of proactive risk management. Fidelity Wealth Risk is responsible for enabling Fidelity Wealth leaders and associates to identify and ensure appropriate management of all risks – including operational, reputational, and financial risks – to protect Fidelity and its customers, and to promote business and market integrity.

    The base salary range for this position is $71,000-$112,000 per year.

    Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

    Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
