SAFETY MANAGER plans and manages the general health, safety, and loss control policies and procedures of the organization. Monitors and evaluates the workplace to ensure compliance with governmental regulatory agencies. Being a SAFETY MANAGER designs and directs safety training programs to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards. Develops worker plans and policies for new employee safety orientation including skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Additionally, SAFETY MANAGER studies, identifies, and reports causes of past accidents and develops recommendations and follow-up to prevent accident recurrences. Requires a bachelor's degree of occupational safety and health or related degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The SAFETY MANAGER manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. ISS is searching for a Motor Vehicle and Fleet Specialist. This position is in Renton Washington but will consider remote consultants.
Project Scope: The candidate should be highly experienced in motor vehicle safety programs and driver injury prevention issues and exposures. The consultant will be working with our client's summer intern. Nearly daily brief tagups with the intern and the project sponsor. They are looking for data collection, benchmarking, recommendations, etc. as it relates to motor vehicle fleet safety.

Schedule: Part-time ~ about 20-30 hours per week
Prefer local but will consider remote candidates with occasional travel to Renton WA.
