Safety Specialist implements, manages and monitors safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements. Evaluates the organization's procedures, facilities and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions. Being a Safety Specialist ensures the organization complies with all current safety regulations and that all employees are aware of safety requirements and are prepared to follow safety procedures. Collects data and reports on all safety and accident events. Additionally, Safety Specialist may have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, resource conservation, or other safety related activities depending on the industry and location. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Safety Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. The Driver Safety & Compliance Department is seeking a Driver Safety Specialist to join the Onboard Truck Camera and FMCSA CSA Program team.
Under the direction of the Driver Safety & Compliance Manager, this Administrator will assist with the development and coordination of video events that strive to ensure our truck mounted event cameras protect our drivers and our company from wrongful blame and provide support for the safe operation of our vehicles.
The role will also monitor and provide feedback to impact our company FMCSA CSA scores by assisting in management of violations / citations that are received in operation of our vehicles across the United States.
As well as assign and monitor driver training in areas identified for safety improvement.
