Safety Technician inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations. Responsibilities also include documenting safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures, and maintaining safety equipment supply and availability. Being a Safety Technician may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Senior Field Technician - RI / Eastern CT

    All requirements from Apollo Safety Inc. Level I & II Technician must be continued in addition to the following. Technician

    must display the ability to calibrate "fixed" or "stationary" gas detection systems "in-house" & "on-site" at customers

    facilities. Technician must begin to understand the entire "Fixed System" concept, including alarms, relays, and other

    external devices that interact with the system such as fan control relays, valves, solenoids, actuators, ect. Technician

    should be able to understand the technical language included in all manufacturers product manuals for portable gas

    detectors and fixed systems manuals as well as the control panels that operate them. Customer interaction on the phone

    and in person is a must. Travel to and from customer sites in a safe and timely manner. Technician will be required to

    perform Fixed System calibrations and minor maintenance at customers facilities alone. Technician will be required to

    assist other higher level technicians "on-site" at customers facilities for Fixed System installations, calibrations and

    maintenance. Ability and willingness to take study material home is a must. Technician must always present themselves in

    a courteous and professional manner and display Apollo Safety Inc. identification at all times. A good driving record is an

    absolute requirement. Must complete a drug screen and background check. Normal business hours are 7:30AM through

    4:30PM Monday - Friday; however, work segments started will be completed the same day. Typical work week is 45-50

    hours. In addition to the regular work week this level technician will be "On-Call" for emergency response to contract

    customers. This is an On-Call Position. Additional compensation may be considered.

    Requirements

    Technical Background

     High School diploma or equivalency is required

     Two years college or further education preferred

     Some electrical or electronic study courses completed by a recognized institution
