National Account Manager

  • Continental Sales & Marketing, a nationally recognized Sales Representative Agency, is seeking a candidate for a National Account Manager. The National Account Manager will be a key team member on the Continental Sales and Marketing National Accounts team with a focus on the Hardware Co-op and Regional Distributor channel. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Sales and be responsible for direct sales and working with channel sales partners. The successful candidate will be a skilled influencer able to assess customer needs and facilitate solutions unique to their business.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • As the National Account Manager, you will be the primary customer/merchant point of contact for our factories and our customers
    • Identify and develop areas of sales growth and profit enhancement over the short, medium and long term
    • In working with merchants, the National Account Manager must enhance the strategic supplier relationship that gives our factory partners a unique competitive advantage and a dominant market share
    • Take a lead role in all National level interfaces
    • Develop market intelligence to capitalize on business opportunities as they occur and ensure effects of competitive activity may be minimized
    • Analyze sales performance reports to develop and execute strategic business plans to support growth and increase sales
    • Expert knowledge of large/key customer/vendor portals will be needed to maintain and support customer backend operations (i.e. product information entry, product or vendor updates) via dealer platforms
    • Identify reports for Sr. Director of Sales regarding any significant competitive activity
    • Work cross-functionally with all appropriate departments (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, etc.)
    • Lead and collaborate in the preparation of customer presentations including the annual and strategic business and marketing plans
    • Individual should be creative and have the ability to visualize and communicate new types of products, merchandising and programs that would create a competitive advantage to customers
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers creating a collaborative selling environment that ensures achievement of the market-share objective and profitability plans
    • Provide appropriate training and instruction on products, selling functions, and administration to customers, and internal personnel
    • Work with Director of Sales to identify new business development, planning, and execution

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • A highly developed level of creative skills, resourcefulness and perseverance are required to succeed as a National Account Manager.
    • Adaptability and multi-tasking ability
    • Initiative (self-starter)
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
    • Strong ability to work in a team environment.
    • Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% .
    • Assist with trade show coordination and attend trade shows when necessary. On average 3-4 shows per year. Must be able to lift, pull and push items to prepare for the show. Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time.
    • Proven track record in managing enterprise account management or a related role, preferably in hardware retail.
    • Bachelor's Degree required or the equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
    • Proficient user in MS Office suite.
    • Must be able to prepare reports, presentations, charts, schedules, procedures, and other data as necessary.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
