Security Guard - Armed provides security and guards buildings, grounds, materials, work sites, or other venues. Monitors security systems and responds to alarms, reports of issues, or requests for assistance. Being a Security Guard - Armed patrols an assigned location. Follows required gate-keeping procedures such as verifying visitor credentials, conducting inspections, or preparing paperwork. Additionally, Security Guard - Armed may operate an access control or identity system to control building access. Completes shift activity logs and inputs to systems. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically requires Firearms Certification. May require a Security Guard License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Security Guard - Armed works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Location: Honolulu, Hawaii (FAA Honolulu Control Facility)
Position: Armed Contract Security Officer
Schedule: Part Time (On-Call) with an opportunity for a full time position (32 or 40 hours)
Shift: Varies (0500-1300 / 1300-2100 / 2100-0500)
- Bi-weekly pay
- Paid Initial Training (40 hours) and annual training (20 hours)
- Uniform/Equipment provided at no cost
- Annual Raises
- Accrued paid leave
- Holiday Pay
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be at least 21 years of age and US Citizen
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass an initial background check, drug test, and physical/fit for duty exam
- Valid American Red Cross/American Heart Association AED, First Aid and CPR Certification
- Hawaii State Guard Card
- Input and retrieve data using a computerized security system and read, understand, and apply printed instructions, rules, detailed orders, and training materials.
- Speaks English fluently.
- Reads and understands written English in reports, orders, guidelines, and instructions.
- Writes official reports in English that are grammatically correct and technically accurate.
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
All Security Officers assigned to FAA facilities must meet one (1) or more of the following requirements for experience:
1.Three (3) years of security experience within the past five (5) years OR
2.Associate Degree in a related field plus one (1) year of experience OR
3.Three (3) years of military experience (active, reserve or National Guard either be currently serving or have been honorably discharged) OR
4.Successful completion of a State certified Police Officer’s Standard Training (POST)certification course OR
5.Possess a reasonable combination of one (1) through three (3)
