Social Media Manager Internship

About Our Brand:

Ponyboy Slings is a Louisville-based startup creating premium canned bourbon cocktails. We are a husband and wife team bringing fun, innovative bourbon cocktails, and an authentic bourbon experience to the ready-to-drink market. We are bridging the gap between traditional bourbon culture and new way to drink bourbon that’s sessionable. Essentially we are creating a day bourbon!

The Role:

We're looking for a creative and organized Social Media Manager Intern to own our brand's voice across Instagram, Facebook, and Google. This is a hands-on role where you'll strategize engaging content, manage our community, and directly impact our sales and awareness.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a weekly/monthly content calendar and posting schedule aligned with our brand
• Orchestrate a steady stream of feed posts, reels, stories that ooze personality and entertain our audience and that keeps our community engaged through clever caption writing and on-brand wit
• Join us for VIP access to Louisville's coolest events to capture that candid, behind-the-scenes content to create reels and posts with- Edit photos/videos and create engaging reels/reel series 
• Monitor channels and engage with our community through comments, DMs, shares
• Analyze performance metrics and provide recommendations to improve engagement
• Work with our team to ideate attention-grabbing social campaigns and giveaways
• Most importantly, help shape the bold, genre-defying persona that's turning us into a regional cult favorite

Requirements:

- Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field 

- Skilled with social media management tools like Later, Planoly, Hootsuite

- Experience with photo/video editing tools like Lightroom, Premiere, After Effects, etc

- Ability to adopt our fun, 70s retro brand voice and vibe

- Self-motivated and creative problem-solving skills

- Must be 21 to represent our bourbon cocktail brand

This is a part-time, paid internship opportunity based in Louisville, KY. Remote work is possible with regular meetings. Compensation is $150-$300/wk depending on experience.
