Software Architect jobs in Massachusetts
Software Architect is responsible for the structural design and development of new software systems or extensive software revisions for external customers. Analyzes software requirements and defines system components to ensure efficient and scalable software architecture. Being a Software Architect designs and implements software solutions to consider business and technical needs and ensures compatibility with existing systems. Creates and maintains architecture documentation such as design specifications and diagrams to guide future maintenance and development. Additionally, Software Architect works with non-technical stakeholders to analyze requirements and understand constraints, dependencies, and business needs. Has in-depth knowledge of software development processes and methodologies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Software Architect work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. To be a Software Architect typically requires 7+ years of related experience. Responsibilities
Manage all facets of Axway’s software development and software sustaining
• Analyze complex problems to product and software development and devise creative solutions• Design and develop software components
• Design and implement complex changes across multiple platform components, based on requirements• Define software components and solution architect patterns• Evaluate and recommend external technologies for inclusion in products• Perform risk assessment of products due to customer concerns and issues with product quality and delivery• Mentor and transfer knowledge to junior team members on best design and coding practices
The job duties require special knowledge of:
• Knowledge of architecture, design, and implementation of Axway AMPLIFY Central• Knowledge of SaaS technologies and concepts like AWS, docker, Kubernetes, API management• Knowledge of design patterns and hands-on experience in programming languages like Go, Java, Javascript, C/C
Examples of how this specialized knowledge will be applied within Axway Inc. include:
• Enhance Axway AMPLIFY solutions with new features and provide sustaining for the customer concerns and issues• Coordinate with technical leads to develop technical specifications and work on design and implementation for SaaS solution• Mentor engineers to develop CI/CD process and tools to support platform
Qualifications
Required Experience:• A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or closely related field• 8 years of experience
