Job Description
As a Fraud Investigations Director you are responsible for a team of investigators that conducts and files 1,000s of financial investigations and Suspicious Activity Reports on a yearly basis. Those investigations can include securities fraud, account owner fraud, true name fraud, account takeovers and scams. Other responsibilities include assisting with process improvements and reporting; and working with business partners, peer firms, industry groups, regulators and law enforcement.
The Team
The Fraud Investigations team is part of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and strives to protect Fidelity’s businesses, clients, customers, assets and reputation by providing effective and timely analytical and investigative services, enabling Fidelity to provide the optimal balance of risk management and customer experience.
The Expertise You Have- Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
- Advanced Degree, MBA, JD, or CPA (Preferred)
- Series 7 (Preferred or Obtain within 6 months of hire)
- Series 9/10 or Series 24 (Preferred or Obtain within 12 months of hire)
- Experience conducting or managing fraud and financial investigations
- Experience working in financial services industry
- Great writing, communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations (Bank Secrecy Act of 1970, Money Laundering Control Act of 1970, USA Patriot Act of 2001)
- Committed to teamwork and development of a diverse and inclusive work environment
- Strong management skills
- Strong working knowledge of financial markets and trading operations
- Strong operational skills and vision for process enhancements
- Maintain and develop working relationships with industry peers, regulators and law enforcement to understand current expectations
- Ability to work under time constraints

- Ability to identity metrics and enhance reports in order to track and increase productivity and manage current and future caseloads
- Ability to interact with and influence technology teams to ensure that FIU’s visions are fully supported by any new systems
- Manage dozens of ongoing investigations daily, ensure thorough investigations and timely filings
- Ability to smoothly manage a team that investigates thousands of cases on a yearly basis
- Ability to keep management and partners informed of necessary matters
- Ability to multitask and meet all regulatory deadlines and other deliverables
- Ability to visualize and accomplish process improvements within budget

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
