May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Additionally, Specialty Pharmacy Technician requires a high school diploma. Duties:

- Assist in the preparation of sterile IV infusions and other specialized medications
- Provide excellent patient service by answering inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring medication adherence
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes
- Follow established protocols and maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, insurance billing, and prescription processing
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy practices, procedures, and terminology
- Proficiency in medication administration techniques, including IV infusion and inhalation therapies
- Familiarity with critical care settings and ability to handle high-stress situations
- Demonstrated expertise in aseptic technique for sterile compounding
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately
- Experience working in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred
Requirements:
- Valid certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred
