Betfred Sports is the wholly owned US subsidiary of Betfred Group, a Warrington, United Kingdom based bookmaker that owns and operates more than 1,500 betting shops in the UK as well as industry leading online and mobile products in the UK and Spain. Betfred Group, founded by brothers Fred and Peter Done in 1967, created Las Vegas based Betfred Sports in 2019 specifically to enter the robust and ever-expanding US sports betting market. Betfred Sports is a licensed operator in Iowa, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Louisiana, and Arizona. Betfred Sports will be opening soon in Maryland and Nevada upon obtaining the requisite licensing and regulatory approvals.
To support our growth in the US market, we are now looking for a Sportsbook Cashier/Writer. This role is based in Frederick, Maryland and will report to the Sportsbook General Manager. We are looking for an individual who has a keen eye for detail, has an interest in sports, and wants to become part of a team for a growing US business.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting the Company Service Standards at all times.
• Perform writing and payouts of sportsbook tickets.
• Operate wagering terminal and perform machine maintenance, including but not limited to loading new tickets and keeping the area free of all debris.
• Ensure sports operations are conducted in compliance with Maryland Sports Wagering Regulations, Minimum Standards, and System of Internal Controls.
• Support sportsbook guests by explaining wagering information and answering questions in a manner that reflects an understanding of the department and property in general.
• Demonstrate full understanding of all wagers offered on the betting board with the ability to explain to customers as needed.
• Assist supervisors in identifying guests with special needs to ensure the protection of the company assets and the best guest service possible.
• Observe and report unusual or suspicious wagering patterns or transactions.
• Must obtain and maintain a gaming license when required in jurisdictions where Betfred Sports does business.

Experience and Skills
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Minimum of 1 year of Sportsbook or relevant experience in the casino/gaming industry is required.
• Be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with team members and guests.
• Understand all wagers offered on the betting board with the ability to explain to customers as needed.
• Excellent customer service skills are essential.
• Experience in sportsbook technology systems and betting terminals is a plus.
• Understanding a sportsbook operation is a plus.
• Interest in sports, casinos, and gaming is desirable.
