Staff Nurse - RN - Burn jobs in New York
Staff Nurse - RN - Burn provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in the burn unit. Examines, prepares, cleans, and dresses patient burn wounds. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Burn evaluates, plans, and documents nursing care for burn patients, as needed. Promotes patients' well-being by teaching patients and families to understand burn wound conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Burn may administer medication and IV treatments to alleviate patients' pain and discomfort. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Burn's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Must be in US under GC, TN or with Valid Working Visa.Skills:Two years of psych experience is required
Education:Required: New York State RN License, Primary Source Verification, AHA BLS, CPI certified
We are looking for a Medical-Surgical Nurse to join our team and provide excellent medical care for our patients.
Medical-Surgical Nurse responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining patient records.
Ultimately, you will work directly with patients before and after they complete a surgical procedure in our facility to ensure they receive necessary medical attention.
Responsibilities
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
- Adjust specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpret and record measurements
- Monitor patients' vitals and report adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner
- Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team
- Answer questions and educate patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care
- Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records
- Adhere to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols
