Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport jobs in Alaska
Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport provides professional nursing care to critically injured or ill patients throughout all phases of emergency ground and air transportation. Evaluates and treats patients prior to and during transport, ensuring patient safety and implementing life support measures as needed. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport monitors patient condition, documents nursing care, and reports patient status to clinical staff at receiving medical facility. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Typically requires Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. May require Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) certification. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Responsibilities:
- • Admitting and assessing patients
• Administering medications and treatments
• Monitoring vital signs and symptoms
• Operating and tracking medical equipment
• Running and ordering tests
• Coordinating care with Physicians and Specialists
• Charting patient progress
Certifications - Required
· AHA BLS - Basic Life Support Certificate
Education - Required
· Graduate of accredited Nursing program
Experience - Required
· 1 - 2 year Acute Care Experience and/or experience congruent with role in service line
Licenses - Required
· Registered Nurse State of Alaska
