Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice jobs in Massachusetts
Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice provides professional nursing care to assigned terminally ill patients in a hospice environment. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice performs examinations and prescribed procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' condition and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Looking for part -time and full-time nurse(s) to work in our hospice team.
Responsible to the Director of Hospice for implementation, coordination, and supervision of all aspects of the delivery of patient/family services, consistent with agency policies. As a member of the team, the nurse works under the general direction of the Hospice Director and the attending physician/hospice medical director in the provision of care to maximize comfort and health of patients and families.
- A registered professional nurse in the State of Massachusetts. A community health nurse preferred with a current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in the State of Massachusetts.
- An RN with at least one year of nursing experience in the community within the past six years.
- Demonstrated willingness and/or ability to manage all aspects of terminal care with specific expertise in crisis intervention, family counseling, pain and symptom control and bedside nursing.
- Demonstrated ability to execute a supportive, sensitive approach to peers, patients and families.
- Basic knowledge of computer use.
