Staff Nurse - RN - Obstetrics jobs in Arkansas
Staff Nurse - RN - Obstetrics provides professional nursing care to assigned OB/GYN patients. Assists physicians with examinations, labor and delivery, operates and monitors medical equipment, and records relevant statistics, including time of birth. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Obstetrics provides immediate and comprehensive care to mothers and newborns during antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods. Observes patient's condition, records observations in patient medical record, and updates attending physician directly when necessary. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Obstetrics may administer medications and IV solutions as necessary. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Typically requires Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Obstetrics's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Location: Arkansas
Position: Stepdown
Responsibilities:
- Manage patient pain relief and sedation by providing pharmacological and non-pharmacological intervention, monitor patient response and record care plans accordingly.
- Work with EKG monitor technicians to evaluate and interpret EKG strips.
- Interpret laboratory results and cardiac tests, and proactively educate patients in health promotion and disease prevention.
- Initiate intravenously therapy, administer medications, provide care for post-operative open-heart patients and post cardiac catheter patients.
- Maintain responsibility for clinical activities of all nurses caring for patients assign, prepare annual evaluations on all nurses assign.
Certifications - Required
AHA BLS - Basic Life Support Certificate
AHA ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate
AHA PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support CertificateEducation - Required
Graduate of accredited Nursing program
Experience - Required
1 - 2 year Acute Care Experience and/or experience congruent with role in service line
Licenses - Required
