Staff Nurse - RN - Occupational Health provides professional nursing care to on-site employees. Treats occupational injuries and illnesses, referring patients to emergency care facilities or outside medical resources as needed. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Occupational Health performs pre-employment physical examinations, including vision and hearing screenings, blood work, and other related tests. Maintains employee medical records and ensures that record-keeping procedures comply with legal and confidentiality requirements. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Occupational Health may be responsible for administering flu vaccination, workers' compensation, disability, and/or employee health and safety training programs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent. Requires a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Staff Nurse - RN - Occupational Health work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Shift: Shift 1
Monday - Friday: 7:30a - 4:00p. No holidays, with occasional weekends. Position is based at Menomonee falls campus, however, may need to cover FMLH / FWBH based on business need.
Job Summary:
Provides professional Occupational Health nursing services to staff of Froedtert Health. Acts as an advocate for the health and safety of the staff members of Froedtert Health. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
A minimum of two years of experience in areas of general patient care, demonstrating leadership and organizational abilities is required. Knowledge of Occupational Medicine is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Associate degree in Nursing is required. COHN or COHN-S is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Demonstrated knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act and Standards of Practice for Occupational Health Nurses. Working knowledge of all equipment used in assessing and providing primary health care. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days.
