Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology provides professional nursing care to assigned oncology patients. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications including chemotherapy, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology assists oncologists during examinations and procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology teaches patients and families about conditions and treatment options. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. May require ONS/ONCC certification to deliver chemotherapy. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. About Lunder 9 Patients
Lunder 9 is an inpatient 32-bed oncology unit with private rooms. The population consists of acute oncology patients with solid tumor cancers, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and leukemia.
Patients admitted to this oncology unit require complex oncology care which may include complex chemotherapy regimens, biotherapy, targeted therapy, radiation therapy, proton therapy and palliative care.
The complexity of care provided to our patients consists of management of symptoms, side effects or complications related to their disease or treatment. Pain management, emotional and spiritual support, education, palliative care and end of life care.
