The Illinois Department of Central Management Services is looking to bring aboard a Stationary Engineer who receives day-to-day assignments from Assistant Chief Stationary Engineer for Central Management Services operated facilities within the Chicago Loop and Northern Region, including the Michael A. Bilandic Building and other assigned facilities. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to making rounds of buildings’ boiler and mechanical rooms at regular intervals, testing, and recording water used for consumption or for generating steam and hydraulic hot water, chilled water systems, and adding appropriate chemicals for proper maintenance of systems such as chilled and hot water loops and cooling towers. This position will also confer with tenant agencies to resolve problems related to building services and assist other CMS facilities in the Region with the installation, maintenance, and repair of various mechanical systems to ensure proper functioning of systems and equipment.
