Ensures that equipment is operating safely and within established limits. Being a Stationary Engineer conducts monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges and controls to determine the need for repair or replacement of parts. Performs preventative maintenance and documents completed procedures. Additionally, Stationary Engineer requires a high school diploma. Requires applicable Stationary Engineer's license for the state. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Stationary Engineer works under moderate supervision. Collins is seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Engineer to play a key role on our team in Portsmouth, NH. This role will provide the opportunity to work on structural projects, including bridge and ancillary structural inspection, above and below water inspections. There will also be in the field and regional travel. Your impact on real life projects includes the following but not limited to:
• Perform design and inspection/field work that does not require previous experience.
• Assist in the completion of inspection and assessment reports.
• Prepare design computations and quantity estimates.
• Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare calculation packages and design drawings.
• Has limited communication with clients.
• Instructs draftspersons / technicians on design drawings, data entry, and report preparation.
