Silver Lining Jewelry & Loan, Oregon’s premier pawn shop is looking for a MOTIVATED, self-starting candidate with impeccable customer service skills who is willing to learn the pawn industry.

Silver Lining is a family owned 2nd generation business that has served the Portland metro area for over 25 years. Founded in the summer of 1998, we have become the most respected pawnshop in the Portland area. We are a company that takes special care to understand its clients and take every opportunity to exceed those client’s expectations with high quality, personal, honest, and knowledgeable customer service.

We are a team-oriented business where serving our customers is a top priority. Our business includes loaning, buying, and selling a wide range of items from jewelry to firearms.

Duties to include but not limited to:

• Acknowledging our customers upon arrival
• Sales
• Loans/Buys
• Cleaning and testing items going out for sale
• Keeping an orderly warehouse and showroom (able to lift 50 lbs)
• Be able to be on your feet for up to 8 hours
• Be able to handle cash transactions
• Be able to work on a computer
• Learn about various products we carry

WHAT WE WILL EXPECT OF YOU

• Be willing to learn and improve their skills, this is more like a trade than a job.
• Be detailed oriented.
• Be a team player. At Silver Lining we work as a team to accomplish our goals, when the store makes a large buy or a great sale it is not the accomplishment of 1 person but the whole team so you need to be able to support your coworkers.
• Have a good work ethic, be reliable, on time and ready to put 100% in for the day. Be presentable: Good hygiene and clean presentable clothes with no rips or stains.
• Be able to multitask and prioritize duties. There are many moving parts to our business.
• Be willing to be flexible things will get busy at times and your manager might ask you to cover an area or put something away or clean up a mess, remember we are all one large team.
• Be able to follow directions and complete tasks.
• Be able to pass a full criminal background check and drug test.
• Have reliable transportation.
• ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND!!!! It is always better to ask a question to confirm what you are doing is not a mistake. I have been in this business for 25 years and still ask questions for clarification, I see this as a strength not a weakness.
