Carpenter & Cross is a growing structural engineering firm seeking resumes for qualified structural engineers with 3 to 8 years of experience in designing commercial buildings, residential buildings, telecommunications structures and other types of structures. Responsibilities:
· Perform analysis and designs of commercial, residential building projects, telecommunications structures and other types of structures.
· Perform complex engineering calculations by hand or by utilization of computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Enercalc, Bentley System programs and other finite element analysis software.
· Work to develop deliverables such as structural design drawings and calculations packages using Microsoft Word, AutoCAD, Revit and other computer software.
· Assist in the development of engineering tools to effectively manage the analysis and design process.
· Responsible for visiting job sites to observe construction work or to gather field data for renovation projects.
· Effectively interact with the client and monitor project timelines and project deliverables to ensure client satisfaction.
· Document accurate analysis results and prepare reports and letters for delivery to the client.
· Work respectfully with architects, contractors, and other clients and employees in our office, at a client’s office or in the field.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in structures, from an ABET accredited institution.
· Strong understanding of design codes and regulations for buildings and towers.
· Strong understanding of steel, concrete and wood design principles.
· Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or able to legally work in the Unites States.
· Candidates should have excellent communication and organization skills, and should exhibit a high level of self-motivation and productivity.
· Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
· Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of building design experience.
