Structural Ironworker installs girders and columns to provide a structural framework. May fabricate and assemble iron and steel materials. Being a Structural Ironworker ensures proper placement and alignment according to blueprints and instructions. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, Structural Ironworker typically reports to a supervisor. The Structural Ironworker works under moderate supervision. An Ironworker at Flint Steel Erectors is required to have the following skills and/or perform the following duties:
- Connecting, bolting, rigging of beams and columns
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Work at heights
- Familiarity with scissor and boom lifts
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Welding and cutting experience are a plus
- Pass testing for pre-qualified AWS weld procedures
