Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
To provide year-round logistical support to the ensemble conductor and the Music Organizations office in the areas of rehearsal and concert management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Set up as needed for daily rehearsals and performances
Reserve rooms as needed for sectionals
Assist with audition process and preparations as requested
Assist Coordinator of Music Organizations with beginning of year robe fittings
Manage check-in and check-out of robes before/after performances
Assist Coordinator of Music Organizations with end-of-year robe inventory
Assist with attendance and maintaining ensemble roster
Assist with ensemble communication on behalf of conductor
Meet with conductor and/or Music Orgs staff for work direction and planning as needed
Ensure all choir equipment is properly stored, returned, and tracked between concerts
Set and maintain a positive tone and spirit towards all work of the choir; serve as a role model for the choir members
Assist with student leadership of ensemble as needed/directed by conductor
Maintain discretion and integrity when dealing with sensitive or confidential material
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
Must be an upcoming sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled via SIS in a St. Olaf choral ensemble
Must be available to potentially return early to help with auditions starting Friday, September 1
Preference given to students who possess outstanding musicianship
Strong leadership skills demonstrated at all times, including positivity, flexibility, and problem solving, respect for singers, faculty, and staff
Knowledge of assigned choral repertoire and ensemble practices for the Viking Chorus
Knowledge of choral stage configurations
Knowledge of choral equipment and instruments
Knowledge of scheduling practices for Viking Chorus
