Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) directs the clinical, managerial, and administrative aspects of substance abuse programs. Measures and evaluates the effectiveness and quality of drug/alcohol rehabilitation treatment procedures to achieve standards and objectives. Being a Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) partners with community agencies and programs to ensure continuity in the type and level of patient care. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local standards and requirements. To qualify for this senior level position, the individual must have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree; post-doctoral research experience; evidence of scholarly activity (publication of papers in peer-reviewed journals); potential to be an independent and externally-funded investigator (if hired at level 1) or clear evidence of an independent career (for levels 2 and 3). Research Bioscientific Staff are expected to obtain NIH funding; publish papers in peer-reviewed journals; report data at scientific meetings; participate in academic activities, (i.e. NIH study sections, editorial boards); and participate in HFHS research activities as requested by Chairs and the Director of Research. Individuals can also attain senior staff status as a Core Staff. Core Staff have equivalent educational requirements; however, these individuals are not required to obtain external funding. Core Staff are expected to serve in the role of consultant/collaborator. Hired by HFHS as Senior Bioscientific Staff (full time researcher). PhD or equivalent degree Minimum of 2 years experience after completion of doctoral training or equivalent at HFHS or other institution(s). Co-authorship on minimum of 5 peer-reviewed publications.
