Additionally, Surface Mount Tech Machine Operator requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Surface Mount Tech Machine Operator may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Summary & Responsibilities
In a team environment, this position is responsible for setting up and operating surface mount technology (SMT) equipment to cost-effectively produce high-quality electronic products effectively and efficiently to meet customer requirements.
Set up, operate, and monitor multiple pieces of surface mount equipment to produce high-quality products.
Perform general inspection and SPC monitoring of product, assembly equipment, and processes to ensure quality product assembly.
Utilize technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to address basic process and equipment problems.
Efficiently perform repair procedures for the production floor, including soldering and de-soldering.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of electronic components (IPC 610) related to electronics assembly, specifically SMT. Inspection experience.
Ability to interpret assembly drawings (blueprints), BOMs, equipment set-up sheets, and MAPS.
Knowledge of electronic components (IPC 610) related to electronics assembly, specifically SMT. Inspection experience.
Basic math skills to include negative numbers conversion factors (English to Metric) and coordinate measuring methodology.
Ability to properly adjust and use a microscope, and measuring equipment (calipers, rulers).
