WORK DAYS: 8am - 4pm: Tuesday, 8am - 4pm: Wednesday, 8am - 4pm: Thursday, 8am - 4pm: Friday, 8am - 4pm: Saturday

Administrative support for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner located in Boston. Work involves reviewing and approving online applications authorizing the release of a decedent to a funeral home.

Training will be Monday-Friday for 3 weeks before transition to Tuesday-Saturday schedule. In-person attendance is required. Not a remote position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Electronically receive, process, and approve funeral home applications for decedent release from the OCME within the online Decedent Release Portal according to standard operating procedure.
• Release the certified death record to the appropriate funeral home in the electronic death registration system (VIP/MAVRIC).
• Communicate any discrepancies with decedent demographic information or legal next of kin/claimant information provided by the funeral home to OCME medicolegal investigators for review.
• Document all case release information in CMTS and ensure required documents and forms are electronically attached in CMTS for printing and filing in the chart.
