This role will be charged with overseeing and continually innovating a full suite of talent management offerings including performance management, talent development, succession planning, career planning and leadership development. This position will have additional responsibility for inclusion, change management, culture building and other projects as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Create and oversee approaches to assess, develop, retain and elevate associate performance to high performance levels including the company’s performance management process to include performance feedback, goal setting and development planning. Continually evaluate the quality of the process and make recommendations for innovative improvement, training and/or communication Deliver effective leadership succession planning. Support the executive leadership team in developing and executing the succession planning Ensure learning and development tools are in place to build a coaching culture and the necessary skills for the current and future workforce Create career paths and a promotional program based on transparency, opportunity and support in associates’ efforts to develop and plan their careers as well as allow the company to plan for future vacancies Utilize data analytics and metrics to measure the effectiveness of talent management programs and make data-driven decisions In partnership with a team of HR business partners, provide consulting to our leaders in critical areas of leadership, management and coaching; provide internal consulting to leaders on developing the capabilities of their organizations Oversee and continually improve a robust leadership development program focused on continually improving the skills and abilities of our leadership team, ensuring that new leaders are quickly trained and integrated and that we have a strong pipeline of leadership candidates Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in talent management and proactively recommend innovative solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness Lead employee engagement efforts to enhance engagement, satisfaction, and retention through effective programs and initiatives Engage and connect with a network of external thought leaders, senior HR professionals and communities of practice in talent to keep informed of emerging research, trends, and practice Develop and implement standards and maintenance of job descriptions at all levels Grow and foster a strong Simmons culture. Shepherd the culture to ensure proper communications, accountabilities, culture fit hiring and behaviors in the workplace Manage large, complex talent management projects that span multiple HR and business functions Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Skills Bachelor’s degree Minimum 5 years of experience in talent management and organizational effectiveness in a fast moving, corporate environment, including researching, planning, designing, and managing all aspects of talent acquisition Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience developing and mentoring employees to high levels of performance in goal setting, career planning, skill development and measurable success Hands-on experience developing and implementing new talent and leadership development programs Strong project management skills; the ability to execute at scale while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy Hands on merger and acquisition experience related to HR due diligence and integration is a plus Experience with HRIS from selection through implementation and use. Workday is preferred.
