    Work Schedule/FLSA Status: 12 month / Salaried exempt

     

    Salary Schedule:  Non-negotiated Technician 4  - 91D

    Starting salary = $71,723.73/year

     

    Essential Performance Responsibilities:

    • Support the role of the Academic Data Representatives across the district.
    • Assist schools and programs with troubleshooting assessment difficulties (e.g., resolving discrepancies in student data, aiding in the navigation of assessment software, etc.).
    • Provide exemplary customer service to school and program staff members (e.g., answering calls to troubleshoot testing challenges, responding promptly to questions from schools).
    • Identify and correct student data issues directly or through coordination with other departments, divisions, or offices.
    • Develop and deliver direct training on assessment administration, assessment data, reports, and dashboards to school/program leadership staff and teachers.
    • Communicate observations and findings from the work of supporting schools to the rest of the Assessment Team for the purpose of maintaining a current understanding of school and programs assessment needs.
    • Maintain established instructional assessment related services to schools.
    • Reassess building and district needs based on in-school observations, and cooperation and communication with building staff.
    • Plan and implement trainings designed to increase staff knowledge regarding assessment administration and interpretation of results to increase student learning.
    • Assist schools with establishing and evaluating goals as part of school improvement planning.
    • Oversee temporary staff brought in annually to assist with mailings.
    • Support administrative staff with online systems management.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
    • Successful leadership experience preferred, but not required.
    • Ability to develop and implement differentiated training about assessment systems, data reports, and data use.
    • Ability to analyze data, interpret findings, prepare comprehensive written reports and to effectively present to a variety of audiences.
    • Familiarity with the nature and application of standardized tests, including both norm referenced and criterion referenced tests, and other instruments commonly used in elementary and secondary educational settings.
    • Familiarity with online assessment systems preferred, but not required.
    • Ability to organize effectively, adhere to deadlines, and works with minimal direct supervision.
    • Skills pertinent to positive human relationships and the ability to work effectively with staff members, as well as, the many publics in a multicultural urban setting.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, ability to communicate well with school personnel, employees, district office staff, families, and community members.
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
    • A willingness and attitude conducive to the continuous quest for quality education.
    • A willingness to participate in trainings to further enhance skills such as Certified Facilitator Training, NSCAS administration training, NWEA MAP training, etc. so that assistance can be provided to schools.
    • Perform all tasks in a conscientious and accurate manner.

    Interrelations:

    • Communicate with personnel within the district and with customers and outside agencies.
    • Will be working under the direct supervision of the department supervisor in order to complete day to day tasks.
    • Will be working with a diverse population requiring the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy. 
    • Must understand and respond appropriately to customer needs and maintain a positive attitude with all customers and colleagues.
    • Expected to interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service.

    Equipment: This position may require the ability to use basic office equipment such as copiers, scanners, etc. as well as a working knowledge of iPads, PCs, and Macs, and Office 365 products (e.g., Teams, Excel, SharePoint, etc.). Must always comply with Omaha Public School’s guidelines for equipment use. 

     

    Travel:  Travel between school and central office may be required

    Employee Punctuality and Appearance:

    • In order for schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave.
    • Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee’s supervisor or building administrator
    • All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of Omaha Public Schools and is appropriate for their position

    Additional Duties
    Performs other related tasks as assigned by central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.  

     

    Terms of Employment

    This position is treated as a full-time exempt certified position. The terms of your employment will be governed by applicable state laws regulating employment or teaching in a Nebraska public school and Board of Education policies, as those laws and policies may change from time to time, and the Teacher Contract. If your position is represented by a collective bargaining representative, then your employment will also be governed by a negotiated agreement between OPS and that collective bargaining representative.

     

    Terms of employment are contingent upon:

    • A background check which demonstrates background is acceptable for the position sought and working with or around students.
    • Verification of U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
    • Successful completion of a tuberculosis skin test (if required by federal law for your position).
