POSITION SUMMARY:

Island Pacific Academy is accepting applications for a passionate and dedicated Kindergarten Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment where young learners can develop socially, emotionally, and intellectually. In addition, the ideal candidate will have elementary teaching experience, be fully supportive of the school’s mission, vision, and core values, and be expected to be an active participant in her/his team and the greater life of the school. The Kindergarten Teacher will foster a love for learning, implement an age-appropriate curriculum, and provide individualized support to ensure each child’s growth and development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Curriculum Planning: Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with educational standards and encourages holistic growth.
• Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, engaged, and motivated to learn.
• Individualized Instruction: Tailor teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of young learners, providing support and challenges as necessary.
• Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct regular assessments to track students’ progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Communicate effectively with parents about their child’s development.
• Social and Emotional Development: Foster students’ social and emotional well-being through activities that promote teamwork, empathy, and self-expression.
• Parental Involvement: Establish and maintain open communication with parents, organizing parent-teacher conferences and regularly updating students’ achievements and challenges.
• Safety and Well-being: Prioritize the safety and well-being of students, implementing appropriate health and safety measures within the classroom.
• Professional Development: Stay informed about educational best practices, attend workshops, and continue professional development to enhance teaching skills.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Proven experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting.
• Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young learners.
