_ What’s the job?_
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for the safe and effective utilization of the Granule plant physical tool room locations and associated materials and equipment. This individual will have direct influence on accuracy of the records in the CMMS system (SAP). The individual will demonstrate administrative organization, computer skills, knowledge of the inventory control process, troubleshooting/problem solving abilities and sound judgment.
Tool Room activities will consist of, and are not limited to:
- Organization and upkeep of physical storage locations in accordance with 5S standards
- Receive deliveries of Maintenance parts and supplies, both in stores and CMMS
- Verify parts and equipment against packing lists
- Ensure parts and supplies placed in proper bin locations
- Locate and issue parts and supplies to technicians
- Create purchase requisitions for consumed parts on a weekly basis
- Address and resolve Invoice or Accounts Payable issues in Medius
- Address and resolve issues in internal Reports
- May be required to contact vendors via phone or email to resolve issues or concerns
Work closely with the Maintenance Planner to develop and sustain parts inventory management and organization strategy of satellite locations around the site:
- Assist with kitting of parts and special tools for upcoming jobs to be performed, as needed
- As directed, build and update equipment Bill of Materials in CMMS
- Participate in and perform clean up and reorganization projects
- Implement strategies to increase the overall efficiency, quality, and organization of the stockroom areas
Supports Reliability pillar through formalized Inventory Control program
- Conduct cycle counts in accordance with Purchasing requirements
- Prepare and run reports that directly support KPI oversight
- Participate in internal reviews to validate appropriate reorder points, critical spare determinations, linked vendors, and part standardization where possible
Other:
- Maintains a good working relationship with Engineering, Production, and Roofing Maintenance to ensure coordination of deliveries and alignment of project work
- As required, label/tag/store parts, equipment, and supplies for Maintenance, Engineering, Production and Quality initiatives
- Participates in root-cause analyses, as well as implements sustainable countermeasures on losses related to spare parts
- As needed, helps develop and maintain standard operating and maintenance procedures; Checks that documents and procedures are written, available, followed, reviewed and accurate
- Keeps the Maintenance Manager properly informed on all abnormal or critical situations and seeks advice on matters outside of their knowledge or authority
- Performs other tasks and special assignments as requested by the Maintenance Manager
What do you bring?
- Minimum High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) (Equivalent experience may be considered)
- Post HS degree or certification (Preferred)
- 2 years of general Stockroom or Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (Required)
- 1 years of data entry experience
- Prior experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System, including the purchasing and receiving process (SAP is a plus)
- General knowledge of mechanical and electrical parts
- Strong in use of MS Office and Windows platforms
- Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
- Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with all employees in the hourly workforce, management staff and outside vendors
- Maintain CertainTeed forklift operator certification
- Ability to lift various awkwardly shaped packages and parts up to 80lbs
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S & continuous improvement
