Description
As an attorney in this position, you will:- Provide day-to-day legal advice, including on employment-related matters.
- Represent agencies, boards, commissions, and their employees in administrative tribunals, as well as state and federal courts, including appellate courts.
- Assist with the review and drafting of administrative rules.

Qualifications
A passion for public service and a strong commitment to justice.
A minimum of three years of practice experience is preferred, but we also welcome applications from new attorneys.
Prior judicial clerking experience is a plus.
A license to practice law in Iowa, or the ability to obtain one, is required.

- Annual pay ranging from $57,636.80 to $139,318.40, depending on experience.

This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Department of Justice - Office of the Attorney General. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section.
Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited law school and two years of successful and responsible experience in the practice of law;
OR
eighteen months of experience in the practice of law in the Department of Justice shall be considered as qualifying experience.
