Top Construction Executive leads the construction organization and directs strategic planning, business development, and operational activities related to construction to meet the financial and growth organizational objectives. Develops quality, performance, and safety standards and processes for construction projects and operations. Being a Top Construction Executive manages financial processes like forecasting, estimating, budgeting, and cost control to ensure profitability. Builds effective teams and the capacity to estimate, scope, design, plan, organize and implement construction projects. Additionally, Top Construction Executive represents the organization in discussions and negotiations with clients, contractors, governmental or regulatory officials, and other stakeholders. Identifies risk and implements insurance and risk control strategies. Monitors costs and timelines to deliver projects on time and within budget. Evaluates and implements new or innovative construction methods and systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes. Requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Top Construction Executive manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.     BDZ Construction is hiring a Top Man to join our growing team.  The basic function of the Top Man is to assist with and provide support to the pipe laying operations of the company and complete these jobs on time and within scope.

     

    DUTIES AND TASKS

    • Read and understand plans on a basic level.
    • Use the pipe saw/cutoff saw to mold the pipe on a proficient level.
    • Be able to use all required small hand tools on a proficient level.
    • Other duties assigned as needed in the field.

     

    MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE

    • Consistently provides quality support as required by the pipelayer.
    • Must be able to meet production capabilities of the pipelayer.
    • Must make consistent quality cuts and bevels without waste.
    • Follow directions from Foreman and other senior staff.


    REQUIREMENTS

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete all areas outlined for this position in a satisfactory manner. Listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities necessary to meet the minimum job requirements.     • Education:
      • Preferred: High School Diploma or GED
    • Licensing or Certification:
      • Preferred: CPR and First Aid; Valid Drivers License; OHSA Confined Space and Trench Safety
    • Experience
      • Required: 2-yrs mainline top man experience
    • Physical
      • Required: Ability to lift and move objects of at least 100lbs. Ability to climb ladders. Ability to bend over, sit on knees, and otherwise move in awkward positions as may be necessary to check, measure, and do the work.
    • Tools / Equipment
      • Company Provided: The company will provide each Top Man with a job-related tools. These will be assigned to and signed out by the Foreman.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Time will be spent in a field construction environment without controlled temperature.
    • Normal business hours are typically Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM 5:00 PM or as necessary to perform the required functions.
