TERRITORY: Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens
Responsibilities:
· Increase sales and distribution within his/her area of responsibility by providing service and communication to distributors and retailers.
· Contact all distributors regularly. Be present in the warehouses on a daily to communicate information on new product introductions, promotions, & contests.
· Help distributors with territory planning (Territory is Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens)
· Work with distributors on opportunities for increased space, sound merchandising and new item placement.
· Take active role in all incentive programs.
· Report on changing market conditions & competitive activity.
· Maintain up to date tracking, ranking, and sales trends within the division.
· Be available to distributors to manage manufacturer’s defects, provide sales aids, equipment.
· Participate in sales meetings and training sessions when scheduled.
· Handle all special assignments and complete within reasonable deadlines.
· Place materials in accounts and replace when necessary.
· Support new distributors, and work to develop sound ordering habits.
· Assist distributors relating to account exchanges, accommodation and sell-offs.
· Learn necessary PC functions to:
o Track Division Sales
o Analyze Trends
o Communicate with Distributor Network
· Project sales for fiscal year; develop and implement plans to achieve them.
Skill Requirements
Outside Sales Experience, English/Spanish speaking required (Bilingual), Computer proficient in Windows OS, Excel, Word, Outlook, Self-starter who can work independently, Excellent Communication Skills, Sound decision-making skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to drive a step-van; valid driver’s license; able to work on trucks (getting up and down, lifting of product, etc.)
Working Conditions
Mostly field work. In Office as needed, New Hyde Park, Long Island.
Experience
Minimum: 2 Years’ experience in food industry, specifically as a manufacturer’s representative OR related work.
Preferred: Variety of sales and management positions in food industry; experience working with independent distributors
