    Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is currently seeking two full-time Logistics Management Specialists to work in the Sentinel Systems Directorate at Hill Air Force Base near Layton, Utah.





    These positions (986456, 986457) are NH-0346-03s, with a typical 2024 salary range of $86,962 - $134,435.





    These positions are not eligible for remote or full-time telework; situational-based agreements may be available at the discretion of the hiring manager.







    The Sentinel program is an ACAT ID major defense acquisition program charged to deliver a full system replacement for the nation’s Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) System, providing a strategic deterrent to nuclear attack against the United States. These positions are integral to the success of the Sentinel weapon system and the continued support of one leg of the nation’s nuclear triad. The Sentinel weapon system, when fielded, will continue the critical national strategic deterrence role currently performed by the legacy Minuteman III (MMIII) Inter-continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) System.






    Logistics Management Specialists in AFNWC solve highly complex problems and take part in a variety of projects to promote national security through nuclear deterrence. Employees will be part of a dynamic product support team and will be expected to operate at a high-performance pace and develop and maintain a radical teaming-centric culture.






    The primary purpose of these positions is to serve as Logistics Management Specialists in the Sentinel’s Material Supply Support Branch, Product Support Division.







    DUTIES NH-0346-03:

    • Provide critical logistics support for the Material Supply Support Branch regarding Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) to maintain the integrity of products, services, people, and technologies, and ensure the undisrupted flow of product, materiel, information, and finances across the lifecycle of the Sentinel Weapons system.
    • As logistics management specialists for SCRM, incumbents will ensure oversight and cognizance of all sub-sets of SCRM, such as cybersecurity, hardware & software assurance, obsolescence, counterfeit parts, foreign ownership of sub-tier vendors, and other categories of risk that affect the supply chain.
    • Apply Department of Defense Life Cycle Logistics methodology and product supportability analysis to ensure effective and efficient sustainment for life cycle aspects of the Sentinel weapon system.
    • Plan, organize, and direct the branch’s logistics activities, ensuring operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer requirements.
    • Train and advise branch personnel on statutory and regulatory processes, policies and tools and briefs stakeholders on status of area of responsibility to facilitate life cycle management of the Sentinel weapon system.
    • Analyze interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity, developing resolutions to solve problems and applying logistics support principles through varied phases of the life cycle.
    • Serve as a liaison between other logisticians and multiple stakeholders to ensure the 12 Integrated Logistics Elements are properly implemented for cross-functional activities, spanning a multitude of Integrated Product Teams.







    SKILLS:

    • Experience in ACAT I acquisition; working knowledge of DoD Directive 5000.01 The Defense Acquisition System is highly desirable.
    • Experience in implementing the 12 Integrated Logistics Elements is strongly preferred.
    • Experience in Engineering & Manufacturing Development (EMD) Phase execution, and a leadership role in Critical Design Review (CDR) are desirable.
    • Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills with demonstrated experience in leading, influencing and collaborating in a diverse team environment that includes external functional and program stakeholders is preferred.
    • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is highly valued. A master’s degree in business is preferred.








    REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

    • U.S. CITIZENSHIP
    • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance and will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
    • Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Life Cycle Logistics “Foundational” Level certification within 36 months of appointment.
