Senior Director of Product Management

Our client is a large, diverse, and global manufacturer of chemical products serving numerous industries worldwide. We are currently engaged with them to find an experienced Senior Director of Product Management with deep experience in managing Product Managers in an international business setting.

We are seeking someone with proven product management leadership experience in the chemicals or closely related industries (such as polymers, for example).

KEY NOTES: This is a nationwide search and is being advertised in several major cities; the position may not be located in the city of this advertisement. This is NOT a remote position. You will likely need to relocate for this role. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Director of Product Management Responsibilities:

• Set the vision for the product management department to ensure excellence.
• Interface closely with Sales and Product Development to determine which product lines to focus on and which products should be developed.
• Analyze pricing and profitability, evaluate product lifecycles, consider combining similar products to minimize SKUs, and assess product performance, all aimed at optimizing the product portfolios.
• Create a product strategy that is cohesive across divisions and locations.
• Foster a culture of marketing excellence within the organization.
• Coach and mentor your reports to excel and grow in their careers.

Director of Product Management Requirements:

• A 4-year technical degree.
• Must have 10 years of experience in the chemical market or closely related markets such as polymers/resins.
• Similar experience with a large international company is strongly preferred.
• 5 years of product management and leadership experience within a global organization.
• Experience analyzing the market and competitive forces/pricing.
• Proven experience in pricing, product portfolio management, SKU optimization, profitability optimization, and interfacing with sales and product development.
• A humble personality, with a drive to mentor your team.
