Anticipates new or changing regulations and coordinates with internal stakeholders to develop strategies to address changes in product, operations, or testing requirements. Additionally, Top Regulatory Affairs Executive investigates and addresses any reported issues of non-compliance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Top Regulatory Affairs Executive manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.   • Our client is seeking a skilled attorney with a minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive regulatory matters to join our esteemed Product Liability & Class Action Litigation practice group in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have expertise in National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) affairs, while familiarity with other consumer safety agencies is advantageous. Proficiency in federal administrative law, product liability defense, and/or government investigations and compliance is highly beneficial.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Provide legal counsel and representation in automotive regulatory matters.
    2. Handle all aspects of case management, including fact investigation, discovery, and defense strategy formulation.
    3. Deliver high-quality written communication and oral advocacy.
    4. Work efficiently under tight deadlines with keen attention to detail.

    Qualifications:

    1. Minimum 7 years of experience in automotive regulatory law.
    2. Strong background in NHTSA affairs preferred; familiarity with other consumer safety agencies is a plus.
    3. Proficiency in federal administrative law, product liability defense, and/or government investigations and compliance.
    4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    5. Ability to manage cases effectively and develop sound defense strategies.
    6. Admission to practice law in Washington, D.C., or the capability to immediately waive in.
