Researches competitors and market conditions to develop and maintain risk selection criteria and methods that support sound risk management. Additionally, Top Underwriting Executive requires a bachelor's degree. May require certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). Typically reports to top management. The Top Underwriting Executive manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.
