Traffic Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. General Description :
Responsible for analyzing the mode of transport and rate structures to be used for routing and expediting inbound supplies, equipment, and products (both International and Domestic) for all Colony Brands’ companies.
Handles outbound less-than-truckload (LTL) and truckload (TL) dispatches for all Colony Brands’ companies including Green County Foods and Swiss Colony Retail Brands.
Maintains the efficient flow of product between Colony Brands’ facilities as well as product moving through 3rd party outside storage facilities and warehouses.
1. Executes the dispatch of domestic freight shipments to / from Colony Bands’ facilities.
2. Monitors weekly carrier activity.
3. Executes domestic common carrier pricing agreements.
4. Performs additional clerical duties.
