Financial Analysis
ROLE
We need a Financial Analyst for the Naval Systems Command (NAVSEA), Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT). NUWCDIVNPT conducts research, development, testing, evaluation, and engineering support for submarines, autonomous underwater vehicles, and undersea weapon systems. The Electromagnetic Systems Department (Code 34) supports NAVSEA and other Naval Commands in designing tactical and strategic combat systems and sensors for U.S. Navy submarines, surface ships, aircraft, and land facilities. Your role as a Financial Analyst will be to provide a variety of financial management services including extracting and analyzing financial data, preparing weekly and monthly financial reports, performing fiscal year analyses, supporting Submarine Antenna Test Range financial operations, researching financial discrepancies, reviewing purchase requisitions, preparing funding documents, and maintaining historical financial records. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive financial management using Department of Defense (DoD) financial systems and tools
- Develop and maintain detailed financial reports and analyses to support decision-making
- Extract, analyze, and interpret periodic financial data to ensure accurate and timely reporting and forecasting
- Provide financial management support, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and policies
- Utilize Tableau, Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio for financial analysis, visualization, and reporting
- Collaborate with project teams to develop budgets, monitor expenditures, and manage financial performance
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support project and organizational financial decisions
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies to ensure project and organizational financial health
Required Skills/Experience
- Demonstrated experience performing financial management using DoD financial systems and tools
- Experience using Navy Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
- Proficiency with Tableau, Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with project teams and stakeholders
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in financial reporting and analysis
- Experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost-benefit analysis
