In this role, you'll be responsible for creating and overseeing health and safety protocols for the company and ensuring that staff members are properly informed regarding emergency preparedness, use of protective equipment, safety compliance, CDL Class A driver management, compliance/safety administration, and accident protocol.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of safety and compliance. Developing and implementing workplace safety policies and procedures in accordance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF standards.
* Lead and oversee all aspects of development, implementation, and management of the company's DOT trucking compliance programs, including CMV Files, DOT driver qualification files, DOT Drug/Alcohol Programs, Vehicle Inspections, Hours of Service, Accidents files etc.
* Reviewing existing policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date.
* Provide, manage and develop a comprehensive and accurate monthly report for CSA measures through FMCSA portal. Manage and oversee all DOT inspections and disciplinary actions needed in order to ensure the company remains in good standing and all national thresholds that might subject to government aduits.
* Conducting risk assessments to minimize workplace accidents, occupational illnesses, or long-term health hazards.
* Preparing monthly or annual safety reports and presenting the information to management.
* Collaborating with management to plan and implement a safety protocol budget.
* Documenting, evaluating, and implementing all safety related programs.
* Controls hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee practices.
* Manages the fleet compliance program and hours of service for all drivers and ensures all work rules are followed.
* Manages the claims process necessary to oversee and settle accident/injury claims in a timely, cost-effective manner. Reviews and/or investigates all accidents and cooperates with all regulatory agents.
* Reports accidents and/or claims and establishes safety metrics for the company.
* Develops and maintains a driver retention program for the company.
* Coordinates training of drivers on hours of service, accident procedures, driver wellness and compliance safety accountability program.
