Additionally, Treasury Analyst determines procurement of funds, and monitors investments and collections. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager.     The Role: Treasury Analyst

    The Team: The global Treasury team consists of 13 people and the job responsibilities are grouped into cash, debt / capital markets, and foreign exchange.  This role will support the cash team.  The global Treasury team is supportive of rotating team members throughout the various Treasury teams as opportunities arise, to allow for a well-rounded Treasury work experience.

    The Impact: The Treasury Analyst role is intended to seek operational efficiencies and provide overall support to the global Treasury team. The successful candidate for this position demonstrates commitment to work and a general willingness to learn to acquire more skillsets in the Treasury function, as well as an ability to execute with discipline in a detail-oriented manner while still being able to see the big picture of Global Treasury Operations’ role within the larger Corporate Finance function.  

    What’s in it For You:

    This is an entry level role that will focus on cash management for S&P Global Inc US entities. The successful candidate will learn about banking as it relates to cash management operations, banking relationship, corporate banking structure, and treasury systems- focusing on our treasury workstation. The successful candidate will be instrumental in executing Treasury related projects in support of global treasury initiatives, as well as possess the ability to execute with discipline in a detail-oriented manner while still being able to see the big picture of Global Treasury Operations’ role within the larger Corporate Finance function.  

    Responsibilities:

    • Support the company's daily cash positioning and cash forecasting process while contributing to its global cash management strategy.
    • Manage short- and long-term subsidiary funding needs, intercompany debt, and debt capitalizations.
    • Perform variance analysis, assist with ad hoc reporting, and create account reconciliations.
    • Help to formulate recommendations and process improvements as it relates to Treasury compliance.
    • Liaise with key banking service partners on treasury service requests, documentation requirements (e.g., KYC compliance, FATCA, etc.), and annual bank signor review.
    • Point of contact for compliance focused banking relationships
    • Bank portal administration and proactively communicate updates to end users.
    • Arrangement of trade finance services - bid bonds, guarantees, letters of credit.
    • Assist with legal entity restructuring projects and provide M&A-related treasury integration support.
    • Ensure compliance with and help provide reporting for SOX related activities and other internal controls around cash transfers, bank documentation, bank online access, etc.
    • Assist with bank administration documentation requests.
    • Work to support cash management and treasury technology solutions across the organization. 
    • Daily interaction with financial institutions including cash operations and organizational challenges.  Coordinate communication between banks and business functional areas where needed (e.g., resolving collections and payables inquiries)
    • Assist with other treasury related projects as needed (e.g., merger integration, SAP projects, etc.)
    • Actively involved in treasury organization to achieve objectives according to plans and timelines.
    • Work as an individual contributor as well as a close team member in a fast- paced environment.


    What We’re Looking For:

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
    • Experience in cash management operations including bank account onboarding, administration, and payments.
    • Communicates in a clear, concise manner and effectively expresses thoughts.
    • Responsible for responding to stakeholder's concerns and the ability to provide basic insight on financial implications.
    • Good understanding of financial systems, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications
    • Self-starter who possesses ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Experience working with external service providers/vendors.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or relevant experience
    • Treasury / finance / accounting experience a plus

    Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $51, 200.00 to $91,100.00. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

Treasury Analysts seem to be robots plugging in numbers to spreadsheets, but the Director of Billing basically is responsible for and involved in all accounting related to revenues – deferring unearned, accruing unbilled, dealing with auditors, analyzing to ensure accuracy, determining appropriate accruals for bad debt, some forecasting of future billing and/or cash flow, etc.
