We are seeking a detail-orientated and motivated Underwriter to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success.

About the Role:

As a CAMICO Underwriter, you will:

• Evaluate and decide on new and renewal insurance applications.
• Determine pricing and terms for accepted applications.
• Respond to endorsement requests and assist policyholders/agents with coverage questions.
• Analyze insurance applications and endorsements for various coverages. 
• Utilize external resources for thorough investigations.
• Collaborate with other departments and senior team members on complex risks.
• Provide excellent customer service through phone and email.
• Analyze claims data and make recommendations to improve firm loss experience.
• Participate in Loss Prevention seminars, firm visits, and agency calls as needed.
• Assist in projects aimed at improving departmental performance.
• Stay informed on market trends and competitor activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred: candidates working towards their degree or with relevant experience considered.
• Minimum of two years in professional liability insurance preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must be licensed as a California Fire and Casualty Broker-Agent or willing to obtain the license.

The hiring range for this position is $53,100 to $96,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
