Urban Planner jobs in California

We're currently in search of a dynamic and motivated Master Planner/Urban Designer to join our Newport Beach, California team. As a key member of our Planning Studio, you'll collaborate closely with our talented Designers and Architects to shape urban infill neighborhoods and master planned communities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of site plan feasibility studies and conceptual site plans, working closely with the project manager.
• Produce visually compelling master planning and urban design graphics to effectively convey project concepts.
• Offer support and contribute to ongoing projects and client requirements.
• Conduct research to understand zoning codes and design guidelines governing site development.
• Coordinate project activities with clients and the design team to prepare entitlement packages.
• Cultivate a collaborative work environment that fosters teamwork, creativity, and professional growth.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in architecture, planning, civil engineering, or landscape architecture.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Actively participate in industry organizations.
• Proficient in essential software applications: AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, Word, and Excel.
• Preferred skills in 3-D modeling using SketchUp or Lumion.
• Proficiency in expressing ideas through hand sketches using various media.
• Ability to interpret and utilize data provided by clients and local authorities.
• Strong team player with a proven track record of meeting project deadlines in a collaborative environment.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urban & Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, or Civil Engineering.
