Madison Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Madison, OH.

Job Summary

The Veterinary Assistant is responsible for assisting the Veterinarian and other staff with patient care, lab work, and patient duties. This position provides support to the Veterinarian and other staff members in the clinic. The ideal candidate is a team player who can work well independently.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care, including but not limited to: examination, medication administration, wound care, and medication management including aggressive animals.
• Assists with lab work including but not limited to: prepare fecal samples for analysis, process limited patient testing (snap tests).
• Assist with administers medications as prescribed by the Veterinarian (assisting Technicians with patient treatments).
• Maintains cleanliness of exam rooms, equipment, and general areas in the hospital.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Veterinarian or Manager.
• Ensures patient safety at all times.

Experience:

• Experience working in a veterinary hospital preferred but not required.
• Experience with medical terminology preferred but not required.
• Experience with digital radiographs preferred but not required.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of veterinary surgical procedures preferred but not required .

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent are required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34 – 40 per week

Experience:
