Veterinary Assistant jobs in Texas

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for animal care and possess knowledge of veterinary practices.

Responsibilities:

- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures

- Handle and restrain animals during treatment

- Provide basic care for animals including feeding, bathing, and grooming

- Monitor and record vital signs of animals

- Clean and maintain examination rooms and equipment

- Administer medications as directed by veterinarians

- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition

Qualifications:

- Knowledge of veterinary terminology

- Experience in dog handling and animal husbandry

- Proficiency in animal handling techniques

- Familiarity with pet care, grooming, and pet sitting

- Understanding of animal physiology

- Previous exposure to veterinary or equine environments
